AUDITION ANNOUCEMENT!

Get ready to rock the Wagner school house this fall. Auditions are now open for Sky's fall production of Schoolhouse Rock - Live! at the Wagner Performing Arts Center, in beautiful downtown Monroe, WA!

Audition dates: AUGUST 15 & 16, time slots between 12-5 both days. Grab your spot before they're gone - we may add some spots on August 22 & 23 if needed. Don't miss your chance to be part this fun and nostalgic musical, geared toward all audiences.

Rehearsals start September 1st and will take place in Monroe Tuesday & Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

 

Tech week is November 2-5 with a run of 8 total shows (November 6, 7, 8 & 13, 14, 15).

Once you sign up you'll receive an email with additional audition, rehearsal and show run details.

For your audition, we ask you to prepare a 1 minute comedy monologue and approximately 1 minute of a song that shows your range. The character list is below for reference. Please bring a headshot with you. It doesn’t have to be professional, a selfie is ok! Let us know if you have questions - break a leg!

Here are the roles. We will also have a small ensemble cast. Ages 12+ please.

1. Tom

  • Role: The protagonist, a nervous teacher preparing for his first day.

  • Vocal Range: Typically tenor, with a comfortable range from A3 to D5.

  • Key Traits: Anxious yet enthusiastic, Tom embodies the challenges of teaching and learning.

 

2. George

  • Role: The romantic facet

  • Vocal Range: Baritone, generally from G2 to B4.

  • Key Traits: Charismatic and confident, George engages the audience with his energetic presence.

 

3. Dina

  • Role: A mature facet

  • Vocal Range: Mezzo-soprano, spanning from A3 to E5.

  • Key Traits: Clever and witty, Dina uses her knowledge of grammar to teach others.

 

4. Shulie

  • Role: A sweet facet

  • Vocal Range: Soprano, typically from C4 to G5.

  • Key Traits: Bright and optimistic, Shulie brings a fun approach to learning math.

 

5. Dori

  • Role: A goofy facet

  • Vocal Range: Mezzo-soprano, usually around A3 to D5.

  • Key Traits: Curious and engaging, Maggie teaches scientific concepts with excitement.

6. Joe

  • Role: A cool facet

  • Vocal Range: Baritone, generally from G2 to B4.

  • Key Traits: Knowledgeable and passionate about history, Joe educates through storytelling.

​If you don't want to be on stage but want to be a part of the fun, we are always seeking support and new team members in all areas of production. We love volunteers for stage crew, set-building, marketing, fund-raising and more! Get involved!
